A successful affiliate program – How to make, develop successful affiliates
I have always wanted to have a successful affiliate program. Two years back during a Christmas holiday, while I was reading one of those paper crackers, I pulled out a piece of paper that was almost the size of a credit card. On one side of the yellow paper, it was written a riddle that did not seem to make sense. However, on the other side was one of these inspirational quotes that made a lot of sense.
It had made a lot of sense me to the point that I decided to keep the small piece of paper in my wallet till today. The quote from the piece of paper read like “The shortest and best way to make your fortune is to let people see clearly that it is in their interests to promote yours.”
Within this two year, I have been able to learn a lot of insights about achieving a successful program. The most interesting part of this business is the commission that is allocated to affiliates. Continually, I have been astonished when I realize that affiliate program give their affiliates as low as 20 percent. At times, these rates offered to the affiliates reach a low of 15 percent. It is widely acknowledged that, the amount allocated to the production of any given information product is 10percent of the entire process. Therefore, the other 90percent goes to marketing.
As far as my affiliate program is concerned, I could not think of earning anything less than 50 percent since I am responsible for making all the sales. However, it is not encouraging to give 50 percent go to the affiliates when you have incurred all the costs that are related in marketing and selling of the products. However, it is worth to note that the affiliates make an integral part of the sales process.
Without these affiliates, the sales might have not taken place. Therefore, when coming up with an affiliate program, it is important to give a keen consideration to these affiliates since they play an important role in the promotion of a given product. Considering both sides, it is important to balance the cost of marketing with paying the affiliates so as to make the affiliate programs sensible.
From my short experience in successful affiliate programs, I have learned that, in order to build a successful affiliate program, one has to set priorities. This is to mean that, in order to be equal partners with the affiliates, they should be given 90 percent of the work.
I wish you success!!!
